Named as one of Elle Decor’s “What’s Hot…Shops” in the July/Aug 2010 issue, we’re thrilled about a nod to the Bull City for design by this beloved shelter mag! Enough about our food (okay, we must agree with the NYT that the food in Durham is amaaaazing); it’s time to tell the world that we know a good chandelier when we see one. Thank you, shop customers and design clients near and far, for helping give us this exhilarating boost! We’re planning a Celebration Sale during it’s last week on the newsstands in August. NEW: Velvet Sofas and White Linen Chairs in Sunbrella outdoor fabric…SAFE FOR KIDS & PETS! No kidding! My own two small children and kittens have put our new sofa through the ringer already, and I’m shocked: crayons, strawberry jam, coffee (okay, that spill was mine) come straight out with water and soap. You can even BLEACH this stuff! No more protective blankets tossed over your sofa…no need for dark tweeds to hide grubby fingerprints in the family room. Freedom! Come see a sample at the shop.

Summer’s here, and the store is FULL of fresh NEW things of all sorts! Furniture, lighting, mirrors, candles, accessories….all from our favorite vendors (many located here in NC). Check out furniture from Lee (in Sunbrella bullet-proof family fabrics that feel and look LUXE), loads of accessories from Roost and Arteriors, and furniture made from reclaimed timber in Asheville. Ceramics and steel creations by local Elijah Leed.

The Sidewalk Sale and Art Walk cleaned us out! But coming soon…a whole new store full of furniture, lighting, accessories, gifts and rugs. We have our fingers crossed that the new inventory will roll in by late-May, so please come by (call ahead if you’re wanting to be certain we’re stocked). Everything’s new, so come have a look!

We’re kicking off 2010 with a whole new store full of yummy upholstered furniture by Lee Industries! After much consideration (obsessive consideration, actually) I’ve carefully assembled a group of pieces for the shop with ‘something for everyone’…the apartment sofa, the family sofa, the tiny club chair, the mega deep lounger. Scores of fabric and detail options, with something for the traditionalist (nailhead trim, anyone?) or the ultra funky (leather slipcovers!). We’ll be setting the store during January, so stop in for a glorious sit.
